If you're looking for a summer destination that's a little off the beaten track, Ryanair has just added a new route from Málaga to Košice in Slovakia, and it's now open for bookings.

 

Košice is Slovakia's second city and its cultural capital, with an old town full of Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architecture that tends to impress visitors without the overcrowding you'd find in more obvious European city-break destinations.

 

The route runs twice a week until October 22, 2026.

 

Flights leave Málaga on Mondays at 4pm and Thursdays at 1.30pm, arriving in Košice at 7.40pm and 5.10pm, respectively. In the other direction, departures from Košice International Airport are on Mondays at 8.25pm and Thursdays at 5.50pm, landing back in Málaga just under four hours later. Flight time is between three hours 40 minutes and four hours depending on the day.

 

The Košice service is one of four new routes Ryanair has added to its Málaga summer schedule, alongside Katowice in Poland, Bratislava in Slovakia and Pardubice in the Czech Republic.

 

Combined with increased frequency on popular routes including Bologna, Rome, Copenhagen, Liverpool and Tangier, Ryanair will be operating 589 flights a week from Málaga this summer, an 8% increase in capacity compared to last year. The airline now serves 91 routes from the airport in total.
